SSL

SSL not working after enabling - common causes

An SSL certificate is only one element. The site must redirect to HTTPS and must not load assets over HTTP.

When this matters

Sometimes the certificate is valid, but the browser warns because of mixed content, old cache or redirecting to the wrong address.

Why SSL may not work after enabling it: DNS, validation, redirects, mixed content, cache and mail certificate.

Practical checklist

  • check that DNS points to the correct server
  • wait for AutoSSL validation to complete
  • enable HTTP to HTTPS redirect
  • remove assets loaded over http://

How Hostilla.pl helps

What to prepare before contacting support
